With West Bromwich Albion reportedly agreeing a deal with Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang for striker Salomon Rondon, on Friday that long running saga came to a close.
“Down Payment On A Free Transfer” – These West Brom Fans React To Rondon Deal Reports
With everyone knowing about his £16.5million release fee and that he wanted to make his loan at Newcastle United permanent given his own words about his future, it was only a matter of time before the 29-year-old Venezuelan international departed The Hawthorns this summer.
Salomon Rondon has joined Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.
All the best for the future, @salorondon23.#WBA https://t.co/svzy4nYTMH

The transfer is officially undisclosed but as per the earlier speculation, he probably hasn’t rejoined Rafa Benitez for the release fee, they simply offered more than what had been put on the table by Premier League suitors.
Rondon departs with 120 appearances to his name at the club following his £12million arrival from Zenit back in the summer of 2015, and in his time with us, he scored 28 times.
Whilst his words during his spell with Newcastle may have soured the relationship for some, plenty were happy to wish him well for the future.

Some Albion fans are just plain embarrassing… he played up top in a team managed by Pulis , is it any wonder he didn't score as many goals as we would have liked , his season last year @NUFC proved what might have been for us , good luck in China and thank you … ????

Proper #WBA fans will always appreciate you Rondo… scorer of one of the best goals I’ve ever seen at the Hawthorns. Seemed to have been a popular guy with the fans and club off the pitch too. Best of luck in ????????

My fave striker since Odemwingie. It’s a real shame we never see the best of him. ( thanks to Pulis ) But he gave everything. Ran him self into the ground for this club. A decent manager would have got 15+ goals out of him a season. Top bloke who always appreciated the fans. #wba
